10 Years of Swiss Alps Classics – An Anniversary Weekend Filled with Musical Highlights

With the 10th edition of Swiss Alps Classics, we had the privilege of celebrating a truly special milestone. Over two unforgettable days, outstanding artists, unique concert venues, and exceptional musical experiences took centre stage.

The anniversary weekend opened with a captivating concert evening in the spectacular Crystal Cavern at Sasso San Gottardo. Internationally acclaimed violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing and renowned pianist Håvard Gimse transported the audience into a world of Nordic soundscapes and musical storytelling. The combination of extraordinary music and the unique setting deep within the Gotthard massif created a truly memorable experience.

Following the concert, guests gathered for the Nordic Midsummer Night Dinner at The Swiss House Andermatt. In a festive summer atmosphere, visitors enjoyed exquisite culinary delights, warm Nordic hospitality, and inspiring conversations. The evening concluded with a lively DJ party, keeping spirits high well into the night and providing the perfect ending to a remarkable festival evening.

The grand finale of the anniversary weekend took place at the Andermatt Concert Hall with a performance by the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Michael Sanderling. The orchestra captivated the audience with a programme of profound emotion and symphonic brilliance. A particular highlight was the appearance of young cellist Jaemin Han, whose outstanding interpretation earned enthusiastic and prolonged applause.

Prior to the final concert, guests, artists, partners, and friends of the festival came together for a festive Festival Dinner at The Chedi Andermatt to celebrate ten successful years of Swiss Alps Classics and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this anniversary edition.

We look back on this extraordinary anniversary weekend with immense gratitude. Our heartfelt thanks go to all artists, partners, sponsors, supporters, volunteers, and, above all, our loyal audience. Together, you made the 10th edition of Swiss Alps Classics an unforgettable success.
